Terms of Service
Last updated: August 5, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Your Roster, available at yourrosterapp.com (the “Service”), operated by Your Roster (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Your Roster. We may update them from time to time (§16); continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet those requirements and that the information you provide — including any connections export or résumé you upload — is your own and you have the right to share it with us.
3. The Service
Your Roster helps you find warm introduction paths to open roles by matching your professional network and profile against job openings we read from public company career sites and applicant- tracking systems, and by surfacing public hiring-related news about companies you’re watching.
Your Roster is not a staffing agency, employer, or recruiter, and does not guarantee an interview, a referral, or a job offer. We show you paths and information; what you do with them, and whether any of it leads anywhere, is between you and the people and companies involved. We are not a party to, and have no responsibility for, any employment relationship, application, or hiring decision that results from your use of the Service.
4. Your account
You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials confidential. You’re responsible for all activity under your account. Tell us right away at the address in §18 if you suspect unauthorized access. If you choose “Keep me signed in” at login, your session may persist on that device until you sign out; don’t use that option on a device you don’t control.
You may register with an email and password, or with “Sign In with LinkedIn” — see §6 for what that flow does and does not share with us.
5. Your content
“Your Content” means anything you upload or enter — your connections export, résumé, profile details, ratings, and watchlist entries. You retain ownership of Your Content. By submitting it, you grant us a limited license to use it solely to operate and provide the Service to you — for example, to score and rank matches, or to display your name, title, and company to another user as part of an introduction path if you leave path-finding visibility on (see our Privacy Policy §5). We do not use Your Content for any purpose beyond operating the Service, and we describe exactly what we keep and for how long in the Privacy Policy.
You’re responsible for Your Content and for having the right to share it with us, including any connections export you upload (see §6).
6. LinkedIn
Your Roster is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LinkedIn Corporation. If you use “Sign In with LinkedIn,” your use of that feature is also subject to LinkedIn’s own User Agreement and Privacy Policy.
If you upload a LinkedIn connections export, you represent that it is your own export, obtained through LinkedIn’s ordinary data-export feature, and that uploading it to a service like ours is consistent with your agreement with LinkedIn. Don’t upload an export you obtained through scraping, a third party, or someone else’s account.
7. Job & company data
Job openings, company details, and hiring-signal alerts shown on the Service come from public sources — company career pages, applicant-tracking systems, SEC filings, and public news — and are provided for your convenience. We don’t control these sources and can’t guarantee that a listing is accurate, current, or still open; a role may be filled or removed by the employer at any time without our knowledge. Always verify details directly with the employer before relying on them.
8. Invites & introductions
The Service lets you generate a shareable invite link to send to someone in your network yourself. We never send an invite, message, or any other communication to your connections on your behalf — you are the one who decides whether, and how, to reach out. You’re responsible for how you use any link or draft the Service gives you, including complying with applicable law (such as anti-spam law) if you send it onward.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service beyond normal browser use;
- Upload a connections export, résumé, or any other content you don’t have the right to share;
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a company or role;
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Service’s security or normal operation;
- Use the invite, rating, or notification systems to spam, harass, or mislead others;
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section (see §12).
10. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, software, and branding, is owned by Your Roster and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license in §5, nothing in these Terms grants you any right to our trademarks, logos, or content beyond what’s necessary to use the Service as intended.
11. Third-party services
The Service links to, and relies on, third-party sites and providers — company career pages, LinkedIn, and infrastructure providers described in our Privacy Policy §6. We don’t control and aren’t responsible for third-party content, sites, or practices; your use of them is subject to their own terms.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service, or request account deletion, at any time by contacting us at the address in §18. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or if we discontinue the Service, with notice where reasonably practical. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including §10, §13, §14, §15, and §17) will continue to apply.
13. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT MATCHES, INTRODUCTION PATHS, JOB LISTINGS, OR HIRING-SIGNAL ALERTS ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
14. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOUR ROSTER AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, OPPORTUNITIES, OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limitations, so they may not fully apply to you.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Your Roster harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms or the Service itself as it evolves. If we make a material change to these Terms, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts with jurisdiction over Your Roster’s principal place of business, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
